Laptop or desktop computers?

February 11th, 2012 . by admin

If you are thinking about purchasing a new computer then you might want to think about your options. Many people in the past automatically opt for the desktop option, but nowadays computers have become more portable and people like the idea of being able to browse the internet via their sofa.

Computing is as accessible now as it has ever been. Computers have become easier to use and many more generations are shopping and catching up with the news on the internet. It is these people that should consider a laptop or iPad. If all you are doing is internet browsing then an ipad is a perfect option because you don?t really need to use a keyboard to browse and the onscreen keyboard is plenty good enough for twitter and Facebook. If you like to browse and you wish to use your machine for administrative purposes (using word, excel etc.) then you might want to think about a notepad or laptop.

If you do high end work such as using Photoshop, or you are into your gaming then you need to give serious consideration to a desktop machine which uses a tower. Desktop machines are much more upgradable. If you need a new graphics card or more memory, or if you are into your gaming in a big way and like to keep your components up to date then a mid-range full size tower is definitely recommended. Laptops are a lot harder to upgrade and the range of components is limited, and you definitely cannot go into upgrading an iPad, that is a sealed unit!

More and more procurement managers in the IT Support and services sector are recommending users to go portable. It simply makes sense for commuters and business owners to be able to work on the go, and with the latest mobile computing technology running a business on the move has never been easier.
